Much that she says about her process—the rule-making, the obsessive labor, the freedom of the mind as the hands work repetitively—are resonant with my own process. I love to learn shared goals. It proves to me that I’m touching on something universal.


NY-born artist Liza Lou's Color Field is currently on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego — part of her long lineage of labors of love and collaboration made with her communities in Los Angeles and KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
